It is the rise of the size zero that has prompted many slimming centres to pursue unheard of or untested ways and means to reduce women’s waistlines – and weight. This size zero pursuit is indicative of women’s desire to be thin. Women have this notion that the thinner you are, the more beautiful you are. A magazine article describes this slimming centre flocking to be due to women claiming that they want to look good for their partners, when in fact, it is because they want to look good for the other women that they are around.
