Heart disease has only recently become an issue for Asian populations. A new study of more than half a million Asians suggests that there is an epidemic of heart disease that is coming to China and many other countries in that region.

The study in question looked at health and behavior from China to Australasia. It provides valuable insight into the future of health in this area. One thing that was found is that there has been a rapid increase in smoking. This and other factors have been greatly increasing chances of heart disease.

Other factors include diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. These are especially problematic in urbanized regions of Asia. Because of these tendencies, drastic changes need to be made or Asia will be facing a major heart disease epidemic.

Your heart is a critical part of the cardiovascular system. It is the engine that pumps blood throughout your body. The blood that circulates in your body is bringing oxygen to all of your cells.

This epidemic is going to hit many people in the prime of their professional careers. Heart disease occurs at younger ages here in Asia, than in the West.

In China and other countries in Asia, there will be huge cost associated with heart disease. Of course, there will be major expense from the treatment of heart attacks and heart disease. However, there will also be huge loss of earnings for those who have heart trouble. This will be potentially financially devastating for many Asian families.

Unfortunately, many people do not know that they have cardiovascular disease until an emergency occurs. Sometimes, the first signs that present themselves are chest pain and heart attack or stroke.

When these events occur, they are an emergency and require immediate treatment. Often people will need to go to an emergency room, or be taken to a hospital, which is very expensive.
